Jane Faulkner - English Piano Trio Jane Faulkner – Violin

Jane Faulkner studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Manoug Parikian.  She was the recipient of many prizes and awards, including the York Bowen prize, the John McEwan award, and the prestigious Harold Craxton prize.

She held a subprincipal position in a London orchestra for a number of years before relinquishing this in order to concentrate on solo and chamber music.  Following her first South Bank recital she was described by the Daily Telegraph as ‘one of Britain’s front rank musicians.’

In addition to her work with the English Piano Trio, Jane has a busy career as a teacher, London orchestral player, and a recitalist.  With the Greek pianist Elena Konstantinou, she presented a series of concerts in London, ‘Greece in Britain’, celebrating both British and Greek music for violin and piano from the classical period through to the present day.  Jane also has a duo with the pianist Wing Yun Wu, specialising particularly in the classical and romantic repertoire. She is a member of the string trio, the Hoffmeister Ensemble.

Jane’s interest in the piano trio led her to form the Piano Trio Society, an organisation dedicated to dealing with all aspects of the piano trio, including performance, research and education.
